Covenant Women Ministries
"Covenant Women Ministries exists to nurture, strengthen, and encourage women in their faith walk with Jesus, through various ministries, so they may effectively serve in their families, church, and communities."  Mission Statement adopted fall 2004

Greetings!  Women Ministries has been a vital part of the Evangelical Covenant Church for the past 90 years both locally and abroad.  God has given women from the beginning of time opportunities to be involved in different aspects of ministry and that still holds true today.

Over time, women's roles and needs within their home, church, and community have changed greatly.  Here at the Evangelical Covenant Church of Pomeroy, through Women's Ministry, we strive to meet the challenges to help women define their roles and meet their needs as single women, wives, mothers, grandmothers, friends, sisters in Christ, and  neighbors.  Below are just a few of the many ministries we currently offer to accomplish this task.

Words to live by:  "If any of you lacks wisdom, ask God, who gives generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given to you." James 1:5

"Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.  Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man."  --Proverbs 3:3-4 NIV

  • Praise, Devotions, & Fellowship

Why not start the new year off right with refreshing your mind, body,

and spirit.  Feel free to join us the third Saturday of each month from 9:30-11:00 a.m. when women both young and old meet to share in food, worship, devotions, and meaningful fellowship.  This year we are studying the book Growing in Wisdom & Faith by Elizabeth George.  A deeper look into the book of James to help us gain practical guidance on the most pressing life issues that affect Christian women daily.  Childcare is provided upon request.  If interested or would like more information, please contact Deb Garrett, CWM Leader at 712.468.2883 or email at cwm@pcovenant.com.

  • Mom's Group
On the fourth Tuesday of each month from 9-11 a.m. this group meets at Evangelical Covenant Church 5 miles north of Pomeroy and 7 miles south of Pocahontas on Hwy 4.  This group is for any mother interested in interacting with other mothers.  Child care is provided for non-school aged children.  For more information, see here.
